Suddenly it seems there are pumpkins everywhere. I'm rather in denial that we're only two weeks away from November. Still, I jumped at the chance to get out of the house last week and visit this cute "farm" in Half Moon Bay.
Lyla had fun petting the goats:
Hands up, Lady!
She's very close to sitting up by herself these days - she practiced on this bucking bronco (green and plastic as he is).
But the best part was the pumpkins - all shapes, sizes, and colors. Lyla doesn't discriminate - she wanted to gnaw on all of them!
Now that Lyla doesn't despise lying on her stomach, she's having a lot more fun making faces at herself in the mirror. I hope I'm not teaching her to be too vain :)
So, somehow I taught Lyla how to blow bubbles. I think it is hilarious, but Jared thinks it's gross/inappropriate. Lucky for him, this was only a fad that lasted a few days. Good thing I got it on video!
Lyla has sprouted a tooth! It's a bit hard to see, but it's there, in all its jagged, gum-cutting, mama-biting glory :)
She has changed so much in the past week. She started rolling over like a maniac, front to back and back to front. (She's been sort of toying with rolling front to back for about a month now, but not very excited about it until a few days ago). I've even found her in her crib sleeping on her side and on her stomach. She's also started eating "real food" - video post of that to come soon!
This morning when I discovered the tooth, I felt oddly proud (although I know she didn't "do" anything to get it), excited, but also sad. She's just not a little baby any more! I can't believe how fast it's going, and it's only been five months. I guess it's true what everyone says - they grow up so fast. I feel so old saying that.
