This weekend, my parents came to visit on what happened to be Lyla's five month birthday. Here is my mom holding her, in a sweater that her mom knit for her when she was a baby!
We took Lyla camping on Labor Day weekend. I thought she did surprisingly well sleeping in a tent, and we had a great weekend with our dear college friends Adam and Ali Bradley. They have a little girl, Noelle, who's a year older than Lyla.
The first morning it was freezing cold when we woke up, so we all had our hooded sweatshirts on :)
Thankfully it warmed up, and we were able to go out on the boat. The boys did some wakeboarding, and Ali and I just held on to the babies. They both, amazingly, fell asleep to the hum of the motor!
Noelle was a little shy toward us at first, but she liked Lyla a lot. She kept saying "baby" and pointing, and would never hesitate when we asked her if she wanted to give Lyla a kiss :)
On our last day of the trip, we walked around downtown San Luis Obispo and reminisced about college. We also ran into some friends from our church there, Ryan and Sarah Miller, and their two little cuties, Hattie and Tilly. Look at all those daddies and girlies!
And after Jared stopped off at Moondoggies Surf Shop, our foursome of Rainbow flip flops was complete :)
In all, we had a great long weekend in SLO and it was so refreshing to relax and hang out with old friends. Thanks, Bradley Family!
So, we are accumulating video clips of Lyla, with nothing to do with them. So I'm trying to post one on the blog. We'll see if it works. This is an old clip, from when she was about two months old.
Give me your opinion, if you have one - does the youtube version or the onsugar version of the video look better on your screen?
We had a little Tahoe getaway a few weekends ago, and gave Lyla her first swimming experience! She did great, even though the water was a bit cold. Thanks for the cute swimming gear, Aunt Paula!
