Lyla's new hobby is putting everything in her mouth - her clothes, toys, my fingers, and especially her fingers. When she's sleepy she'll usually settle on her thumb.

I think in this picture she has seven fingers in her mouth!

We all went to the Giants Game on July 3. A shutout game, garlic fries, and fireworks - what more could you want?

Sorry Dad, Grandma and Grandpa Lemen beat you to it. She may be a Giants fan for life.

Hanging with the Digerness Boys. This should be a cell phone commercial :)

Lyla loves standing up (with a little help, of course). When she's crying this is a surefire way to get her to perk up. She usually locks her knees, but sometimes she bounces up and down, and recently she's started moving her feet one at a time. I know she's a LONG way from really walking, but it's so cute to see such a little person standing upright like a tiny adult!

Last week was a busy one for little miss Lyla Mae.
We had a visit from my cousin, Joe Friis, and a nice lunch together in Union Square.

Then, Katie arrived again from the DR, this time to be in her best friend's wedding. Lucky for me, that meant we got a whole week with her too! Lyla and I joined her on the train to Mariposa. Lyla didn't care too much for her first train ride, but we made it there without too much trouble.

One of the highlights of the trip for me was visiting my mom at work, in the high school library, and meeting up with some of my old teachers. My friend Gianna is also a teacher there now, joining her mom in the English department!

I finally got some photos of Lyla smiling one day, as she sat on Auntie Katie's lap. My mom thinks her smile is crooked like Jared's.

My favorite is the open mouth smile!

My friend Jessica came to visit us one day too, and she was great with Lyla. Watch out, Paul! :)
This is the friend whose wedding I was in six days after Lyla's birth!

Here are a few photos from Erik and Marissa's wedding.

Jared and Lyla had their first father-daughter dance!

When we got home, we had a visit from my cousin Jessica, Joe's sister! She gave us the coolest crocheted giraffe, and had fun meeting Lyla too!

That's all for now. We're taking it easy this week :)
Most of you probably know this by now, but I have to brag on my husband a little bit more...
We won a contest for cool, small kids rooms with Lyla's Baby Box!
Here's a link to the contest page:

And here are some photos of the finished box:

Both of Lyla's Aunties have been having too much fun dressing her up.
Here she is in the sweet sunglasses Auntie Jenn gave her as a baptism present!

And Auntie Katie felt the need to paint her little toenails during our visit last week! Never mind that there was initially more paint on her skin (and my mom's couch) than her actual nails.

My little brother Jacob (who's not that little anymore) is turning out to be a natural with Lyla. He was very proud that he changed his first diaper this weekend!

Lyla got baptised this past Sunday, along with her sweet friends Jack, Cate, and Ella. We were so blessed to have many family and friends join us for the special day!

She wasn't crazy about the water, but we made it through the ceremony without too much trouble.

Lyla and Jack got married after their baptisms.

We'll have to stop joking about that once they can understand us.
Even though June so far has been much colder than May here in San Francisco, I do feel like summer is approaching and I've had the urge for wearing (and making!) cheery skirts and dresses.
Here's Lyla's first home made outfit :)
