Meeting the Colburns

Last weekend we took Lyla on her first flight to meet my mom's side of the family. We all gathered in Anaheim, CA to celebrate her parents' 80th birthdays. Although Lyla doesn't seem to be a huge fan of flying, we had a great weekend and a wonderful time catching up with our family members we haven't seen in awhile.

New Sleep Sack

So, I came home from Bible Study the other night, and Jared had the sewing machine out. He decided Lyla needed a new sleep sack, so he made her one out of this fleece he had stashed away in my sewing box for a few years! He actually did a great job sewing it, and even successfully installed his first zipper.

Sitting Up

Lyla has been toying with sitting up for awhile now. She could sit up unsupported for a few seconds, and then she would topple over. And then one day last week, she could just sit up forever!

Here she is demonstrating - although, she just woke up when these pictures were taken, so there is a good topple at the end!

Harvest Party

Here are some pics from the Harvest Party at our church. Basically, hay, games, and candy fill the auditorium, and the parents eat chili and laugh at the ridiculous costumes we stuff our babies into :)

Six Months!

Lyla was six months old on Monday. The time has truly flown. Today she had her six month checkup, so here are her stats:

Length: 27 1/2 " (99th percentile)

Weight: 15 lb 11.5 oz (50th percentile)

She's more than doubled her birth weight (7 lb 9 oz) which is what they're supposed to do by six months, so we're very happy! She's healthy and happy all over :)
